Since its establishment in 2005, the Morning Light Foundation has collaborated with local governments to build and donated Morning Light Elementary Schools in some of the most poverty-stricken rural areas across four provinces: Anhui, Guangxi, Jiangxi, and Hunan. To date, a total of 30 schools have been established.
The Morning Light Foundation began offering scholarships to students of Chinese descent in the United States in 2015. Initially available to international students, the program was expanded in 2018 to include domestic students. These scholarships are designed to support students with financial need in their pursuit of higher education, helping them achieve their academic and career goals.
The Morning Light Foundation cooperated with Anhui Normal University, Guangxi University, Nanchang University, and Jiangxi Normal University to establish and fund the “Morning Light Supporting Education Team.” This initiative recruits graduate students to serve as educators in underdeveloped regions, helping address the shortage of quality teaching resources. Each team member receives annual financial support of RMB 100,000 to cover living expenses and teaching-related activities.
The Morning Light Foundation has collaborated with Guangxi Overseas Chinese Experimental High School to establish the “Morning Light Class,” dedicated to students from families facing severe financial hardship. These students, many of whom are orphans or left-behind children, are given the opportunity to attend high school and prepare for the national college entrance examination. This initiative provides them with a critical pathway to higher education and the chance to transform their future.
Each year in China, many outstanding university students are forced to drop out due to financial hardship. The Morning Light Foundation selects eligible students in need and provides each recipient with a scholarship of RMB 3,000. Annually, approximately 400 students receive support from eight leading universities across Anhui, Guangxi, Jiangxi, and Hunan provinces. To date, the program has benefited more than 5,000 university students, helping them continue their education and pursue better futures.
